Description: Former waitress. Hurls toxic coffee to temporarily disable Survivor perks lower than its unit level.
Additional info: I’ve long had the idea of a Zombie that would negate Survivor perks. I think it would be a unique and fun skill for a Zombie that would not be too overpowering. I mean, a level 40 Atomizer is still going to do a lot of damage even without any perks. My original idea was that this would be accomplished by shooting out electrical shocks. But then I started trying to think of a name. Let’s see . . . removes perks. Percolate = coffee. Remove effect of coffee = decaffeinated coffee = Decaffeinator. Then I realized I needed to reimagine the Zombie as a waitress. I sort of modeled her after Flo in the old sitcom Alice, with the red hair and all. At least, I would have if I had better artistic skills. Then I sort of ran with the coffee theme with everything else I developed for the Zombie.
The deperking effect of the Decaffeinator could start at 1.0 second at level 1 and increase by a tenth of a second for each level. To further encourage upgrades, the Zombie would only be able to affect Survivors at a lower unit level than it is. This would play out in two ways. First, a level 25 Zombie could only affect a Survivor at level 25 or lower. Big incentive to upgrade. Also, a mythic could deperk any Survivor, but the Legendary version (Barista) could not deperk mythic units, and the epic version (Waitress) could not deperk mythic or legendary Survivors. I would consider giving some bonus when deperking a lower rarity, maybe a five level (or less) upgrade per rarity (a level 20 mythic Decaffeinator could deperk a level 25 legendary and level 30 epic and so on). Not sure about this one though, as a mythic unit would become pretty powerful pretty fast.
Have I come up with perks for my unit? Of course I have. Here they are:
Level 3: Dark Roast – 5% chance to deperk two units with one strike
Level 10: Scalding Spill – in addition to disabling perks, each strike also does damage (scaling up with unit level) OR Coffee To Go – increase range of strikes by 50%
Level 30: Shot of Espresso – allows unit to deperk another unit 10 levels higher than it is (great if you want to stop upgrading at level 40 but still be able to affect level 50 units) OR Free Refill – increase duration of effect by 20%
Level 50: Whole Latte Pain – strikes have an area of effect (multiple Survivors at once) OR Permanent Stain – Survivor perks are permanently disabled
