This was the problem before. Guild mates spam the vote for several reasons. One being, if you get a mythic, you can loan it to me. I'm sure to that other guilds might "entice" their members to vote in one form or another.
@Mmustard was my favourite entry, congrats btw , but I didn't vote for it. I'll be honest, I voted for my own, as I suspect many vote for their own as you want a shot at the coins/prize. I think of it this way, do you think a politician would vote for any of his/her competitors, even if they felt their competitor were more likely to win or had a better campaign? Highly unlikely. Now if I don't enter or if my submission doesn't get chosen, I vote for the submission that I think is best. I'm glad you won @Mmustard, and was frankly surprised I won second tier. Congrats to everyone who won.
I do however think there is still a possible bias in the competition. Your team at Prole actively checks the competitions and even though you say you send the entries around without a user name attached to it, you still see who submits the entries by actively checking the forum. Which means you could, unintentionally, having a voting bias. Kind of like when a jury sees all the news coverage for someone on trial, and is ready to vote guilty by the first day of the trial. Perhaps you could consider making the user name anonymous until after the vote has ended? But I don't think that will stop guilds from spamming the vote. I also don't think it's going to stop people from making multiple forum accounts (those greyed out user names). Another consideration (but would have less community input, which the forum is sorely lacking lately). Remove community voting. One entry only. The best of the best. You like John Cena so make it like a Royal Rumble. Prole votes for the last submission standing. You already decide the top winners anyway. I also think one entry is better because often times I've seen a user, including myself, get a bunch of likes, and then you load the other entry, which you thought was better, but not many people liked it and so they didn't vote for it. Remember @xswiftx3003? He had 4 entries for the Halloween Cosplay Contest, 3 were just ridiculously good, praise from many people. He had like 70+ likes between 4 entries, gets honourable mention after the vote. Hasn't been on the forum in ages. Not to take away from those participants though, @Grimlight's Doom was amazing.
