I was wondering if the contests are going to go back to per week or a mixture of one contest every week/every two weeks? The last few contests have been open for 2 weeks each. Is the new format? If so, will there be an increase in the prizes? Since this new schedule effectively gives out less prizes to the community. I'm sure more contests means more work for you, just trying to seek clarification.
A Few Suggestions Though
I'd also like to see an increase of contests or consider having multiple contests at one time. Maybe you can keep the weekly/bi-weekly contests open and then consider adding a monthly contest every so often that has greater prizes, or multiple tiered (including 1st and 2nd) prizes or swag prizes like merchandise like we have for the Cosplay Contest. You can make the rules stricter (like one submission) and the criteria harder or whatever you like. Maybe you remove voting and leave it strictly up to Prole staff to vote. You could even align these bigger contests when you know staff will be out of office (events, holiday, vacation time for Gordon and Jennie). That way it allows less maintenance on your part while busy or away from the office.
Community Picks the Contests
You could also consider making a Pinned Post where you offer 3 ideas for next contest and then the community votes to pick the next contest. To make it more fun you could hide the votes and then announce it during twitch stream and then add it to the forum like you normally do after the announcement. Test it as a pilot project, if it has low participation, then simply go back to the current model.
Rotate the Contests More
Since not all members are "artsy" (my drawing is awful) you could rotate between various forms of art for contest ideas. It looks like in the 6-7 contests, most of them have been design based vs. 1-2 contests relied more on using literary devices (nickname contest and caption contest). In fact, contests using text have considerably more posts and submissions than ones where the community has to create something from scratch. There are like 1000 posts between the last Haiku, Nickname, Caption and Knock Knock Joke contests alone. You could argue texts based contests are less time consuming and therefore have more participation. I would agree, but it also brings more of the community to the forum when arguably, nothing else is going on lately. I'm not saying eliminate Design based contests; on the contrary, I find the challenge of the design ones encourage me to participate more. I'm just thinking of when my Grandma yells at Bingo caller when she keeps getting B after B after B and needs an O. "Shake up them balls".
