Before you reply with the generic rule response, I plead you read what I have to say below.
Because of the 21-day rule, which our leader has no issue manipulate around it, we have 4 high-ranked officers holding up spots (currently #3,#4,#9,#15) we cannot do anything about, who apparently quit as a protest or lost interest due to lack of proper leadership. They did not take their accounts and went to other guilds - they simply quit. In fact #3 used to be #1 and he's very active, he spent money on new packs and gold bars and was generous, during the times of our leader pulling his 'log on and do little' trick for the first time he acted as the leader and even requested for the leadership transfer, but was turned down. Our leader came back for a couple weeks around the recent update, appeared to stay on, then disappeared for a second time and returned to his old trick again to avoid getting demoted. He did mention he would like to keep leadership for 'a little longer' to us before his second hiatus.
A guild leader is not only critical to the guild, he/she is critical to you the developers. If you are a franchise, the guild leaders will be your franchise owners / cheerleader. Without an attentive guild leader the members are discouraged, we have a hard time recruiting active players with so many high-ranked inactive players, we have tough time getting everyone to do the more difficult raids, which leads to people spending less, and ultimately you are the ones that suffer from this!
Why not implement a system where if the leader cannot produce x number of trophies and/or 100 minutes in a week, have the leadership revoked and let the guild members vote for a new leader?? I don't see the point of anyone keeping leadership who hardly shows up and do anything more than 7 days!! If the leader has to go to a cave for a one-week vacation, he/she can surely earn the leadership back via voting. If I were running your company, I sure would not 'hire' anyone to run a group of 40+ people that does not show up 'for work daily', unless your developers are working off charity.
The other option for the players, which is to leave the current guild and join another guild - is that really the best option? We are ranked 17th (dropped one rank recently), should we move to the insanely active guilds? If it were a sports franchise, would you want all the top players to join a few teams, or spread it out, have the experienced lead new players and make it competitive and profitable?
Thanks for listening, best of luck, and should you decide to give our guild a break by breaking your rigid and flawed rule, I'm Zohnny and I'm currently #1 in the guild.
