I prefer the shorter/smaller scale contests that we used to have. One week contests keep it fresh and fun. The one month contests can have the opposite effect. Think of all the excellent short story writers that didn't have a chance against some of the great interactive enties (from a popularity standpoint). I recommend that we return to the old style contests in all mediums--even if they are repeats of previous contests. You can even launch a poll of the past contest types for us to vote for our favorites and launch those first.
A couple of other thoughts:
- If we repeat old contests, I recommend that previous Grand Prize/Runners-Up winners from the same contest cannot win that particular contest so more people have a chance to win the best prizes.
- I would like to try a version of voting that doesn't include any of us. Proletariat would just pick all the winners and that would be that.
Thanks and stay positive!
